Job summary

Illumina in Cambridge (UK) is seeking a Software Test Engineer 2 to join our End-To-End Solutions Software team. You will help ensure the reliability, performance, and quality of software that supports critical healthcare applications in oncology and NIPT.

You will work with developers, scientists, and domain experts to design test strategies, implement automated tests, and translate complex requirements into robust test cases while advancing genomics and precision health.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a scientific/technical field or equivalent experience.
• Experience as a Software Test Engineer or similar role.
• Proficient in Java or Python and Linux environments.

Responsibilities

• In an agile Scrum env, participate in daily stand-ups, planning, and demos.
• Design, develop, and maintain automated test frameworks and suites.
• Translate requirements into effective test cases and scripts.
• Execute tests and analyze results, driving issue resolution.
• Contribute to test standards and best practices across the team.
• Collaborate with developers and scientists to ensure quality.
