Job summary

Synnovis Analytics is seeking an Operational Lead for Cytogenetic Testing within SE-HMDS to lead day-to-day laboratory operations and drive service improvements. The role is a 12-month fixed-term contract, providing oversight of complex genomic testing, staff training, and validation projects, and supporting the transition to a consolidated genomics service across SE-HMDS.

Experience in haemato-oncology cytogenetics is desirable; UKAS/ISO accreditation compliance and HCPC registration are

Qualifications

• BSc (Hons) IBMS accredited degree or equivalent.
• State Registration as Clinical Scientist with HCPC.
• Evidence of ongoing CPD and leadership experience.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to the management structure and lead the team.
• Provide leadership and mentorship to less senior staff.
• Communicate with service users and wider SE-HMDS.
• Lead in the validation of new tests.
• Ensure work is completed to ISO 15189:2022 standards.
• Maintain advanced knowledge to guide genomic findings.
• Oversee the laboratory competency framework and training.
