Job summary

Genomics in the UK is hiring a Data Scientist to join our life sciences platform, combining genetic data with proprietary analytics to accelerate drug discovery. You will work on processing and analyzing diverse genomic datasets, applying statistical and ML methods, and contributing to production-scale software tools.

You will collaborate with human genetics and software engineering experts, shaping analyses across functional genomics and disease mechanisms.

Qualifications

• Extensive knowledge of human genetics and functional/clinical genomics.
• Experience analyzing large biological datasets with statistics or ML.
• Experience processing data from functional genomics, atlases and annotations, including QC.
• Proficient coding in Python and/or R with good software practices.

Responsibilities

• Identify innovative uses of new data types for integration into the analytics platform.
• Implement production-quality data processing, transformation and QC workflows.
• Develop and validate statistical and machine-learning methods with robustness and reproducibility.
• Contribute to internal and external presentations/publications arising from the work.
• Stay current with advances in genomics, functional genomics and statistical genetics.
• Lead cross-disciplinary projects as IC3 level, coordinating data sources to deliver value.
