Job summary

Isomorphic Labs in the UK is hiring a Bioinformatics Engineer to build large-scale pipelines and curate data for ML-driven drug discovery.

Collaborate with ML Research, Computational Biology, Drug Development and Chemistry teams, writing production-grade Python and integrating public databases.

The role requires a PhD or MSc in Bioinformatics or equivalent, and offers a hybrid working model with in-office presence three days a week.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience processing large-scale bioinformatics data.
• Producing high-quality bioinformatics outputs across multiple modalities.
• Experience delivering to research teams or industry projects with user enablement.
• Proficient in Python for production-grade code and scalable pipelines.
• PhD or MSc in Bioinformatics/Computational Biology or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Develop and operate large-scale bioinformatics pipelines for high-throughput data analysis, ensuring reliable processing from raw data to ML-ready datasets.
• Apply bioinformatics best practices to data ingestion and harmonization for model training.
• Harmonise public databases (Ensembl, UniProt, Reactome, Open Targets) with versioning and mapping to avoid collisions.
• Partner with ML Research, Computational Biology, Drug Development and Chemistry teams to promote standardized data primitives.
• Participate in projects as a Deployed Engineer, delivering customised solutions and capturing insights for the core platform.
• Provide documentation, guidance, and training on data resources and curation processes.
