Job summary

NEOS Recruitment in Glasgow is seeking a Generator Engineer to service, maintain and repair a varied fleet of diesel generators across customer sites.

You should have strong mechanical and electrical fault-finding skills and be comfortable working on-site, with occasional overtime and an on-call rota.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned services and maintenance of company equipment.
• Accurately fault find and diagnose mechanical and electrical issues.

• Use proper testing equipment for repair and maintenance.
• Ensure equipment is set up per customers' specifications.
• Modify generator fleet following instruction from Technical Manager.
• Repair and maintain machinery per company and manufacturer requirements.
• Attend equipment breakdowns to deliver service excellence.

Monday - Thursday: 08:00 - 16:30

Friday: 08:00 - 15:30

On-call rota: 1 in 4

We're working with a well-established specialist in power generation solutions, looking to add an experienced Generator Engineer to their growing engineering in Glasgow. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong mechanical and electrical fault-finding skills who enjoys working on a varied fleet of diesel generators, supporting customers across multiple industries.

A successful Generator Engineer candidate will be responsible for servicing, maintaining and repairing generators primarily at customer sites, ensuring equipment is maintained to the highest standard and delivering exceptional customer service.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• To carry out planned services and maintenance of company equipment.
• To accurately fault find and diagnose both mechanical and electrical issues.
• Identify required specialist equipment and connectors.
• Utilisation of the proper testing equipment for effective repair and maintenance
• Ensure all equipment is set up as required by Contract Customer's Specifications
• Modify generator fleet where required following instruction from the Technical Manager.
• Repair and maintain machinery as per company and manufacturer requirements.
• Attend equipment breakdowns as necessary to support the delivery of excellence customer service levels.

This may require the post holder to work overtime, sometimes with short notice.

• Any other technical-related service as required by the business.
• Be part of the on-call Rota system.
