We are currently seeking an experienced Commissioning Engineer to join our projects team. You will play a key role in the successful commissioning of generators nationwide, working closely with project managers, electrical engineers, and field technicians to ensure installations are delivered, tested, and fully operational to the highest standards.

The Role
- Attend site planning and coordination meetings with Project/Site Managers and clients.
- Conduct site visits to assess generator installations and prepare for commissioning.
- Collaborate with project teams to develop commissioning plans and schedules.
- Review and sign off Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS) and adhere to site-specific health & safety protocols.
- Manage and oversee the full commissioning process for each project.
- Perform functional tests, load bank tests, and performance tests on generators.
- Demonstrate technical understanding of mechanical and electrical installations, including controls and synchronisation.
- Diagnose and resolve commissioning issues, escalating where required.
- Carry out Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) and Site Acceptance Tests (SAT).
- Liaise closely with Project Managers, Site Managers, Engineers, and clients throughout delivery.
- Provide technical support to installation teams and field technicians.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant mechanical and electrical regulations and standards.
- Produce detailed commissioning, snagging, and load test reports for internal use and client handover.
- Train end-users on generator operation and maintenance.
The Person
- NVQ or degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering (or related field).
- Electrically qualified & registered, with City & Guilds 18th Edition (or equivalent).
- Experience working with generators is desirable.
- Ability to interpret and follow electrical drawings and schedules.
- Confident in completing risk assessments and understanding safe systems of work.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot on-site.
- Willing to travel nationwide and work away from home (with full compensation package).
- Full UK driving licence.
