Overview

Citizens Advice Southwark has a track record of delivering high-quality services from offices in Peckham and Walworth, as well as outreach locations across Southwark and South East London. We provide free, independent, confidential advice across all social welfare law areas, aiming to resolve issues and bring about positive change through research and campaigns.

This role offers an exciting opportunity for an experienced Advice Session Supervisor (ASS) to consolidate skills or for an advisor to train as an ASS within six months. The starting salary for trainees is NJC Scale 6 - £34,582 for the first six months during training. The post involves working across all our offices and outreach locations in Southwark as needed.

Responsibilities
  • Providing advice to the public and handling casework related to social welfare law
  • Supervising advice and gateway assessment sessions
  • Supporting and supervising staff and volunteers
Candidate Requirements
  • Recent experience in advising the public, including undertaking advice casework
  • Experience or ability to undertake the role of Advice Session Supervisor, with training provided within 6 months
  • Understanding, empathy, and commitment to the Service’s aims, principles, and equal opportunities policies
