Job summary

The Best Connection Group in Manchester are recruiting on behalf of our client for an experienced General Manager to oversee the day-to-day running of a busy warehouse and operations function. This is an excellent opportunity for a proactive, hands-on leader with strong warehouse, operational and people management experience to take ownership of site performance and drive business efficiency.

Hours are Monday to Friday.

Qualifications

• Previous management or team leadership experience.
• Strong organisational and problem-solving skills.
• Proficient IT skills including Excel and MS Office.
• Excellent communication and people management abilities.
• Experience in warehouse, logistics or distribution advantageous.
• Knowledge of stock control systems beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day operation of the site, warehouse and admin functions.
• Lead and motivate warehouse and operational teams to achieve targets.
• Oversee goods-in, goods-out, stock control and inventory accuracy.
• Ensure compliance with Health & Safety and site procedures.
• Monitor workloads, improve processes and drive operational efficiency.
• Resolve operational issues and implement continuous improvements.

Rate : £17.79 ph

• Manage the day-to-day operation of the site, warehouse and administration functions
• Lead and motivate warehouse and operational teams to achieve business targets
• Oversee goods-in, goods-out, stock control and inventory accuracy
• Ensure compliance with Health & Safety and site procedures
• Monitor workloads, improve processes and drive operational efficiency
• Resolve operational issues and implement continuous improvements

Requirements

• Previous management, supervisory or team leadership experience
• Strong organisational and problem-solving skills
• Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office and Excel
• Excellent communication and people management abilities
• Experience within a warehouse, logistics or distribution environment is advantageous
• Knowledge of WMS and stock control systems would be beneficial

• Salary of £17.79 per hour (rising to £40,000 per annum once perm, DOE)
