Job description

Contract Personnel is supporting a rapidly growing retailer in recruiting a General Warehouse Manager to oversee all warehouse operations.

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the Fakenham operation, including order processing, returns, stock management, and team recruitment and training. This is a crucial role as the organization scales, requiring someone who prioritizes business needs and drives change.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Oversee all warehouse functions: offloading, storage, picking, and dispatch
  2. Prioritize and delegate daily workloads to ensure timely deliveries
  3. Monitor staff performance and provide ongoing training and support
  4. Plan staff holidays, organize overtime, and ensure cost efficiency
  5. Maintain clear warehouse systems and ensure team adherence
  6. Ensure warehouse cleanliness, stock accuracy, and system alignment
  7. Conduct regular audits in line with Health & Safety and ISO procedures
  8. Plan and oversee equipment maintenance and vehicle compliance
  9. Address daily issues and maintain strong communication across teams

Experience in a similar role is essential, along with strong leadership skills to manage a young team that expands quickly during peak season from 30 to 100 staff.

Salary: GBP40k - GBP50k base + company bonus scheme

Working hours: Monday to Friday, 08:30am - 5:00pm, with some evening and weekend work from November to mid-January to cover peak season.
