Job description

Vision for Education are seeking an inspirational and experienced general teaching assistant in Sailsbury full time

About the role:

  • Assist the lead teacher/instructor with classroom instruction and activities.
  • Provide one-on-one or small group support to students who need additional help.
  • Prepare teaching materials, handouts, and classroom resources.
  • Help manage classroom behaviour and enforce rules.
  • Set up and organize classroom equipment, displays, and technology.

About you:

  • Previous experience working in teaching/ school environment roles (not essential)
  • Level 3 Teaching Assistant Qualification (not essential)
  • Previous experience of supporting learning using a range of strategies, both with groups and on a 1:1 basis
  • A patient, nurturing, and understanding approach to working with children.

To be considered for the role of a SEN Teaching Assistant you will:

  • Be flexible.
  • Experience in Teaching Assistant roles (Preferable)
  • Competent behaviour management skills.
  • Familiarity with a range of needs (e.g., ASD - Autistic Spectrum Disorder, SLD - Severe Learning Difficulty and PMLD - Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulty).
  • Have a desire to work with children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities.
  • Willing to complete CPD training.
