Job description

Reporting to the Project Coordinator, the General Swing Technician will work with all departments to ensure the smooth playback of a pre-programmed show.

Experience with some or all of the existing technical disciplines used on the show is important. Onsite training will be supplied where knowledge of technology is missing. Remote support is available also.

Your day will look like this:

  • Working together with all internal departments to ensure a high level of customer service.
  • Maintain the System Design under guidance from the designer and Solotech project staff.
  • Ensure that Solotech equipment and standards are respected (cables, connectors, packaging, etc.).
  • Schedule Maintenance of the equipment
  • Where needed, assist with other Solotech on-site departments.
  • Report breakages and liaise with Solotech over running repairs
  • Learn from and teach the other members of the Solotech team so that general knowledge of entire show is shared.
  • Manage other associated control equipment.
  • Any other reasonable ad-hoc requests as required by your manager.

Level of education:

  • Industry accepted qualifications
  • Educated to degree level (or equivalent) or proven work experience

Work experience:

  • Have at least 2 years of proven work experience within the live events industry
  • General technical knowledge in lighting, sound, video & rigging

Desirable Skills / experience

  • Working at height in a harness (training can be provided)
  • Use of 1B Static Boom (training can be provided)

Other requirements

  • Right to work and remain in the UK
  • Ability to travel throughout the UK including overnight stays from time to time
