Service Tasmania is seeking a dedicated Career Medical Officer to enhance surgical services at Launceston General Hospital. This full-time role includes providing surgical care, mentoring medical professionals, and engaging in quality improvement initiatives. Experience in surgery and registration with the medical board are essential.
The Role:
Fulfil several targeted activities to improve the delivery of general surgical services to patients at the Launceston General Hospital (LGH) and to assist in the coordination and training of Surgical Registrars and Resident Medical Officers (RMOs).

Details of appointment:
Fixed term full time, day worker (with on call) position, working up to 76 hours per fortnight, commencing from 2 February 2026 until31st January 2027.
*notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant

Salary:
Career Medical Officer
Career Medical Officer Level 1-7 $128,750 - $183,340 per annum, pro rata+ 11.5% superannuation+ access to salary packaging
Please note that access to the Senior Career Medical Officer salary range $187,460 - $206,000 is subject to the successful applicant satisfying the criteria for Senior Career Medical officer and application approved as outlined in the Medical Practitioners (Tasmanian State Service) Award
