Our client, a specialist academy in Wokingham renowned for its inclusive and nurturing environment, is seeking an ambitious and experienced General SEN Teacher who is ready to take the next step into senior leadership. This is a unique opportunity for a talented educator to take on a broader strategic role with a clear progression pathway towards Assistant Headteacher responsibilities.
The successful candidate will play a key role in shaping the whole-school SEN strategy while continuing to deliver high-quality, tailored education to pupils with a range of special educational needs.
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver outstanding, individualised teaching to learners with complex and varied SEN profiles
Take a proactive role in leading whole-school SEN initiatives and staff development
Collaborate closely with the senior leadership team to support school improvement planning
Contribute to line management, mentoring, and curriculum development as part of wider leadership responsibilities
Build positive relationships with pupils, families, and external agencies to ensure holistic support and progress
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
A proven track record of excellence in SEN teaching
Experience in or a strong desire for leadership within a specialist education setting
Excellent communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills
A vision for inclusive education and a commitment to raising outcomes for all learners
