Empowering Learning is a market-leading education recruitment company. We are partnering with a large school based in Peterlee to appoint a General Cover Teacher for an ASAP start. This is a full-time vacancy for an outstanding candidate to join a thriving school on its growth journey. The successful candidate will be part of a challenging and supportive environment where leadership is dedicated to helping all staff achieve their full potential.



The Job:

  • Provide exceptional teaching across various subjects, ensuring high-quality learning experiences for students

  • Deliver engaging and ambitious lessons that support student development

  • Support the school's efforts in raising standards of teaching and learning across departments

  • Offer specialist subject expertise to assist departmental staff

  • Monitor progress towards agreed educational goals

  • Contribute to the implementation of school-wide policies and initiatives

  • Plan and facilitate professional learning workshops



The Successful Candidate Will:

  • Hold a teaching qualification

  • Hold a degree or equivalent

  • Demonstrate outstanding teaching practice with excellent behaviour management

  • Have experience with lesson observations and providing robust feedback

  • Have experience with improvement planning and implementing strategies to raise student achievement

  • Have a proven track record of excellent results at KS3/KS4

  • Be experienced in pupil tracking and feedback practices

  • Have experience supporting students with SEN needs (including ASC and SEMH) when required
