Job summary
Are you a GP with some ENT experience and a desire to take your skills further in a flexible, multi-disciplinary team? We're looking for motivated GPs to join our ENT colleagues at Calderdale and Huddersfield NHS Foundation Trust (CHFT) as General Practitioners with a Special Interest (GPwSI) in ENT.
This opportunity allows you to continue working in primary care whilst helping shape a more integrated approach to ENT care across our region.
Main duties of the job
About the role
- Up to 2.5 Programmed Activities (PAs) per week (1 PA = 4 hours)
- Outpatient clinics (typically two per week)
- Referral triage and Advice & Guidance
- Primary care education, clinical supervision and liaison with LMCs
- Participation in ENT clinical governance and up to 0.5 SPA for development

Calderdale and Huddersfield NHS Foundation Trust has comprehensive facilities for the diagnosis, care and treatment of ENT disease. The successful candidate will be expected to provide ENT services in conjunction with colleagues and will contribute to the development of ENT services as follows:
Clinical
- Assessment and treat patients referred with ENT conditions
- Triaging of referrals received by CHFT as well as providing Advice & Guidance

- Applicants must be Registered with the General Medical Council and hold a Licence to Practice
- MRCGP or equivalent
Desirable
- MRCS ENT or equivalent
- Other higher degree (PhD, Masters)
Experience and Achievements Essential
- Demonstrate clinical experience and competence in ENT specialty - minimum 6 months ENT experience in a rotational post or equivalent (although please note CHFT offers the opportunity to train successful candidates)

- Understanding current issues within ENT and the future direction of the specialty
- Understanding current issues within the wider NHS
- Attendance at a recognised management course
- Shows ability to work with and lead others across professions
Teaching and Training Desirable
- Training in clinical and educational supervision
- Attendance at a teaching course
- Formal qualification in teaching/education
- Experience of and enthusiasm for clinical teaching of postgraduate doctors and non-medical staff.
Audit and Research Essential
