Job description
Overview

A vacancy has arisen within our practice and we are looking to recruit a salaried GP to join the team from November/December 2025. We are a friendly, supportive, well organised practice in Rogerstone, 15 minute commute from Cardiff and 5 minutes from junctions 27 and 28 on the M4. We value giving our patients great care whilst balancing and supporting all our staff in maintaining a healthy work-life balance. We meet every day before surgery starts and at lunchtime and have a strong team ethos.

The Practice

7 Partner practice with a strong administrative and nursing team including a prescribing pharmacist and highly organised practice management team. GP Training practice for ST1/2/3 and 5th year medical students. List size 13,400. Small geographical area, with low home visit rate and not on a daily basis. High achieving practice which maximises income streams including a wide range of enhanced services. We provide General Medical Services to patients of The Rogerstone Practice, and to participate as a key member of the practice, support and advice aimed at developing general medical practice to the community.

Role and Responsibilities

As a member of the practice team, the post holder will work in close co-operation with, and support other clinical, medical professional and managerial colleagues in providing high quality healthcare to patients of the practice. Integral to the responsibilities of the post are the following requirements:

  • To ensure the provision of a first-class clinical service
  • To undertake all work in accordance with practice procedures and operating policies
  • To conduct clinical practice in accordance with contractual requirements and within the Rogerstone Practice parameters
  • Provision of direct clinical care into patients registered with the practice. This will include face to face consultations, telephone consultations and home visits. It will involve on-call duties and the post holder will also include taking part in the rota system.
