Job Summary

We are looking for an enthusiastic, experienced GP to join our friendly clinical team supported by well-organized administrative staff. The post offers flexible sessions up to full-time. Our clinic is well-structured with nurse prescribers, minor illness clinics, nurse-led chronic disease management, onsite clinical pharmacist, and social prescriber. We have consistently achieved high QOF marks and rated good on all CQC assessments to date. Extended team discussions support staff development and utilization of in-house expertise.

  • This SystmOne practice services 12,000 patients across 2 sites, skewed towards younger and middle-aged patients.
  • Located on the leafy outskirts of West Swindon, close to the M4.
  • Part of Brunel PCN group, offering opportunities to shape services for the wider community.
  • Supportive regular meetings emphasizing case discussions, external speakers, and staff development.
  • 6 weeks of annual leave plus 1 week of study leave per year.

Main duties of the job

To provide the full range of NHS General/Primary Medical Services to registered patients, temporary residents, and those requiring immediate treatment, including clinical examination, diagnosis, treatment, and referrals as appropriate. Your work will include face-to-face, telephone, video consultations, home visits, and administrative tasks.

About Us

Located on the leafy outskirts of Swindon near the M4, our practice serves 12,000 patients across 2 sites, with a focus on younger and middle-aged populations. Our multidisciplinary team includes GPs, Advanced Nurse Practitioners, Practice Nurses, Clinical Pharmacists, Pharmacy Technicians, GP assistants, and Phlebotomists. We operate successful nurse triage and minor illness clinics led by two Advanced Practitioners.

Job responsibilities

The post holder will be an experienced GP, providing comprehensive care within professional boundaries, including history taking, assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and evaluation. They will work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team, build effective relationships with other healthcare professionals, and deliver high-quality primary care services.

Main duties and responsibilities
  • Provide NHS General/Primary Medical Services to registered patients, temporary residents, and those requiring urgent treatment.
  • Be accountable for professional and ethical actions, adhering to GMC requirements and local policies.

Person Specification

Qualifications: Qualified GP.
Experience: Experience in General Practice.
