We have an exciting opportunity for a General Practitioners to join our Primary Care team at HMP Thameside. HMP Thameside is a category B remand prison located in South East London, close to Plumstead and Woolwich Arsenal stations. The prison houses around 1,232 patients with a variety of needs including substance misuse and mental health. Within this role you will be working in a busy healthcare environment, where no 2 days are the same. Ideal applicants will enjoy working in a fast paced role and have previous experience with substance misuse prescribing. In addition applicants with a keen interest in delivering training and development for junior prescribing staff would be welcomed to this role.

Hours

Monday 5pm-10pm

Wednesday 5pm-10pm

Saturday 12pm-10pm

Salary

This role has a salary of up to £120,000 FTE per annum depending on experience

What you'll be doing:

Our General Practitioners are extremely valued and are well respected members of the Prison Healthcare community, as a General Practitioner, your responsibilities will vary. You will

  • Deliver first class healthcare to a diverse group of patients, and therefore as a General Practitioner at Practice Plus Group you get the opportunity to further develop your knowledge in areas you wouldn’t usually experience within a practice, or even A&E environment.
  • Provide clinical assessment and diagnosis to patient’s requirements and make timely decisions regarding future management.
  • Provide a highly specialist resource to other members of the healthcare team at site, as well as the patients you work with having active involvement in clinical governance and effectiveness activities.
