Job description

Salaried GP required in Carpenters Practice for 8 sessions per week - attractive remuneration package!

Carpenters Practice is looking for experienced GPs to join us.

Carpenters is a different type of practice. We are a genuinely friendly and supportive environment. Our GPs enjoy a good work-life balance with flexible working patterns - we have no duty doctor sessions.

Our east London three-site practice is based in a multicultural, vibrant area with a diverse demographic of patients, including students, families, economic migrants, refugees, and elderly east Londoners. This interesting mix leads to diverse clinical presentations and a manageable workload.

The main Stratford site is located near Westfield shopping centre, with plenty of restaurants and shops nearby. Transport links are excellent, including Stratford international, Stratford bus station, the tube (including the new Elizabeth line), and the DLR, all within walking distance. Limited parking is available under the practice. The other sites in Canning Town (Jubilee line) and Manor Park (Elizabeth line) are also well-connected and have their own friendly communities.

We have a multidisciplinary, welcoming team led by dynamic leadership, focusing on quality improvement and enhancing patient experience. Our team includes GPs, physician assistants, prescribing pharmacists, physiotherapists, social prescribers, nurses, and HCAs, all working together in a friendly clinical hub. A highly trained management and administrative team supports the practice to run smoothly and reduce non-essential clinical workload.

Colleagues and senior clinicians are always available to answer clinical questions, fostering a supportive environment. Weekly clinical meetings encourage discussion of complex cases and educational topics. Sessions are mostly telephone-based, with flexibility to see patients in person as needed.

Our GPs, patients, and staff benefit from innovative technology and workflow processes that improve access and streamline administrative tasks, allowing GPs to focus on clinical care with the support of multidisciplinary teams.

We offer mentorship, in-house learning, development opportunities, and leadership roles to help GPs reach their potential. We can support Tier 2 visa applications, subject to GMC and GP Performers List approval.

We are committed to supporting the next generation of GPs to develop successful careers within our organization.

You could be working with...

  • A strong support network for GP development, including leadership roles in teaching, digital innovation, research, and more
  • A wider MDT including pharmacists and physician associates, supported by a central digital clinical hub team
  • Advanced document management system EZ Doc, EZ Analytics, and the ‘Dr. iQ’ patient online consultation app

Our fantastic package includes:

  • £11,000 per session for newly qualified GPs
  • Annual salary up to £112,500 depending on experience
  • Full indemnity cover
  • NHS Pension
  • 6 weeks annual leave & 1-week pro-rata study leave
  • Low admin workload and home visiting rates
  • Clear progression pathways with leadership opportunities
  • Support for SPIN fellowship applications
  • Opportunities in LES or minor surgery
  • Support for Tier 2 visa if needed
  • Vibrant practice environment with clinical meetings and social events
  • Opportunities to develop clinical and training interests
  • Support to become F2 supervisor/GP Trainer with income benefits
  • Exceptional benefits package
  • Regular consultant-led GP education sessions
