Job description
Overview

General Practitioner opportunity at HMP Full Sutton, a busy category A and B men's prison in Full Sutton, East Riding of Yorkshire. The site supports around 560 men aged 21+ with a range of health conditions including a high number of complex needs. The GP will deliver clinical sessions, segregation rounds and provide daily acute support within the main population and specialist units as part of an established team.

Hours: Thursdays 8am-4pm, Fridays 8am-4pm

Salary: Up to £125,000 per annum FTE, depending on experience.

  • Deliver high-quality healthcare to a diverse patient group within a secure environment and contribute to ongoing professional development within a broader healthcare team
  • Provide clinical assessments and diagnoses, make timely management decisions, and act as a highly specialist resource to the site-wide healthcare team
  • Engage in clinical governance and effectiveness activities to improve service delivery

Qualifications and Essential Criteria
  • MBChB or MBBS
  • Inclusion on the GMC Register and GP Performers List
  • Evidence of engagement with annual appraisal
  • Experience working as a General Practitioner in community/general practice
  • Evidence of continuing professional development
  • Ability to work with patients with a history of substance misuse
  • RCGP Certificate in Substance Misuse 1 and 2, or willingness to undertake these qualifications
Desirable
  • Experience in a secure or similar environment
