We have an exciting opportunity for a General Practitioner to join our healthcare teams at HMP Five Wells a category C Prison located in Wellingborough, Northamptonshire. The site supports around 1670 patients the majority of whom are aged between 30-39, however the site have recently had a cohort of elderly patients join who will need support with long term conditions, because of this the role would suit a GP who enjoys delivering end to end care. HMP Five Wells is a state of the art prison offering a modern clinical environment and facilities, you will be working closely with a large multi-disciplinary team, as well as working alongside another General Practitioner.

Hours

Monday or Friday 8.30am-5pm 8 hours/ 2 sessions per week

Salary

You’ll receive an annual salary up to £125,000 per annum FTE - depending on experience

Our General Practitioners are extremely valued and are well respected members of the Prison Healthcare community, as a General Practitioner, your responsibilities will vary. You will

• Deliver first class healthcare to a diverse group of patients, and therefore as a General Practitioner at Practice Plus Group you get the opportunity to further develop your knowledge in areas you wouldn’t usually experience within a practice, or even A&E environment.
• Provide clinical assessment and diagnosis to patient’s requirements and make timely decisions regarding future management.
• Provide a highly specialist resource to other members of the healthcare team at site, as well as the patients you work with having active involvement in clinical governance and effectiveness activities.

Qualifications required

• MBChB or MBBS Inclusion on the GMC Register and GP Performers List
• Evidence of engagement with annual appraisal
• Experience working as a General Practitioner in community general practice
• Evidence of continuing professional development
• Ability to work with patients with a history of substance misuse RCGP
• Certificate in Substance Misuse 1 and 2, or prepared to undertake these qualifications
