Job summary

Belmont Recruitment is seeking a prison-cleared GP to join the healthcare team at a prison in Durham. This role offers a challenging but rewarding environment, delivering GP-led clinics to residents and working closely with nurses and mental health staff.

You will assess, diagnose and treat a wide range of physical and mental health needs, support the management of long‑term conditions and urgent presentations, and contribute to safe prescribing and medicines management.

Qualifications

• Full GMC registration and licence to practise.
• Previous prison clearance (CTC or equivalent).
• Experience in primary care, urgent care or prison healthcare.
• A flexible and resilient approach.
