We have an exciting opportunity for a General Practitioner to join our Primary Care team at HMP Altcourse, a Category B men's prison and young offenders institution located in Fazakerley, Liverpool, Merseyside. Ideal applicants would be experienced general practitioners with prior experience supporting patients with substance misuse needs. HMP Altcourse is a fast-paced environment where you will work closely with a multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality patient care.

Hours

8am-9pm Monday to Friday, 2pm-6pm Saturdays. This role will be split into a job share.

Salary

This part-time position offers an annual salary between £110,775 and £120,787 per annum FTE, depending on experience.

  • Delivering first-class healthcare to a diverse patient group, with opportunities to develop knowledge in areas beyond typical practice or A&E environments.
  • Providing clinical assessments and diagnoses, making timely management decisions.
  • Serving as a highly specialized resource for other healthcare team members and actively participating in clinical governance and effectiveness activities.

Qualifications required:

  • MBChB or MBBS, registered with the GMC and on the GP Performers List
  • Evidence of engagement with annual appraisal
  • Experience as a General Practitioner in community settings
  • Evidence of ongoing professional development
  • Ability to work with patients with a history of substance misuse; RCGP Certificate in Substance Misuse 1 and 2, or willingness to undertake these qualifications
