Job summary

Northumberland House Surgery is seeking an enthusiastic GP to join our friendly, busy practice on a salaried basis. A keen interest in women's health would be preferable, and the role arises due to a GP relocation.

You will join an experienced clinical team with 4-6 sessions per week and support from administrative staff and three nurse practitioners who manage most of the same-day patients. We offer a forward-thinking, supportive environment with opportunities to train Medical Students and work

Qualifications

• Current UK GMC registration and license to practice.
• Qualified GP with performers list and UK driving licence.
• Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check will be required.
• Understanding of primary care policy developments including GMS contract and NICE guidance.

Northumberland House Surgery inKidderminster is looking for an enthusiastic GP to join our friendly, happy,hardworking practice, on a salaried basis. A keen interest in women's health would be preferable.This role arises because of a current GP relocating.

You could be joining our veryexperienced clinical team working 4-6 sessions a week.

You will be extremely well supported byboth administrative staff and your clinical colleagues including threeexcellent nurse practitioners who see and treat the majority of same daypatients.

Main duties of the job

The GP will undertake a variety of duties governed by the GMS contract and objectives of Enhanced services, including:

• In person consultations
• Telephone consultations
• Triage calls
• On call duties
• Checking and signing repeat prescriptions

We are a forward thinking progressive practice with a long history of training Medical Students, GPs and Nurses.We are heavily involved with our PCN which comprises 4 practices and the majority of the ARRS staff.

As a result of the supportive culture within the practice we have a very low staff turnover.

Job responsibilities

• Make professional, autonomous decisions in relation to presenting problems, whether self-referred or referred from other health care workers within the organisation
• Screen patients for disease risk factors and early signs of illness
• Cover all the clinical management of the patients in surgery as appropriate including initiating investigations, reviewing results, making referrals to secondary care or to other providers as appropriate
• Develop care and treatment plans in consultation with patients and in line with current Practice disease management protocols as well wider guidance such as that from NICE
• Assessing the health care needs of patients with undifferentiated and undiagnosed problems.
• Check, read and interpret pathological results for patients
• Ensure appropriate follow up of patients
• Record clear and contemporaneous computerised consultation notes to agreed standards
• Ensure that practice clinical database is updated promptly and accurately with information relating to patient records, as required for clinical accuracy and for practice recording requirements under QOF and enhanced services.
• Appropriate use of read codes.
• Compile and issue computer-generated acute and repeat prescriptions avoiding hand-written prescriptions.
• Prescribe appropriately and in accordance with the Practice prescribing formulary, NICE guidance and Good Prescribing Practice (as defined by British National Formulary guidance)
• Work with and provide support for other members of the primary health care team.
