Responsibilities

• Assess, diagnose and manage a broad range of acute and chronic conditions in general practice.
• Carry out face-to-face and telephone consultations with patient-centred assessment, treatment, advice and follow-up.
• Support patients with ongoing and complex health needs, including preventative care and long-term condition management.
• Work with the multidisciplinary team to coordinate patient care.
• Prescribe safely, make referrals, review investigations and keep accurate clinical records.
• Contribute to clinical governance and quality improvement within the practice.

Job description

Salaried GP post with Riverside Medical Practice, a single-site practice with around 8,800 patients. The role covers a varied general practice workload of face-to-face and telephone consultations, managing acute and long-term conditions, prescribing and clinical administration. Four to six sessions a week, with the number negotiable against the applicant's preference and the practice's needs. Applicants need GMC registration, National Performers List entry and defence indemnity, and must have worked in primary care before.

What the job involves

• Assess, diagnose and manage a broad range of acute and chronic conditions in general practice
• Carry out face-to-face and telephone consultations with patient-centred assessment, treatment, advice and follow-up
• Support patients with ongoing and complex health needs, including preventative care, health promotion and long-term condition management
• Work with the multidisciplinary team, including nursing, pharmacy and other healthcare professionals, to coordinate patient care
• Prescribe safely, make referrals, review investigations and results, and keep accurate clinical records
• Contribute to clinical governance, significant event reviews, quality improvement and the development of practice services
• Work with the GP partners and wider practice team
