A public health organization in Barnsley is seeking a Full Time GP to join their team. The role requires delivering a high standard of patient care, managing administrative tasks, and participating in continuous professional development. Candidates must have a GMC registration and be committed to working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team. Flexibility in working hours will be expected based on practice needs.
As part of a plannedexpansion in clinical staff over recent years, and a commitment to improve worklife balance, we are looking to recruit a Full Time (8 session) GP to join ourexisting team.
To workas an autonomous practitioner, responsible for the provision of medicalservices to the practice population, delivering an excellent standard ofclinical care whilst complying with the PMS contract. Furthermore, thepost-holder will adhere to the GMC standards for good medical practice,contributing to the effective management of the practice, leading by example,maintaining a positive, collaborative working relationship with themultidisciplinary team.
Wecurrently have a team of 9 GPs, 1 NP, 4 PNs, 2 HCAs and a Nurse Associate, aswell as a clinical pharmacist with meds management team support, first contactphysiotherapist, health & wellbeing coach and care co-ordinator.
Wehave a full complement of established administration staff providing help withworkflow systems such as incoming clinical correspondence, lab results andprescription queries.

Weare a training practice for registrars and undergraduate medical students fromSheffield medical school. The practice has a strong educational ethos.
Specialclinical interests are encouraged and supported.
Goodclinical support. Our clinicians meet daily to discuss difficult and complexcases.
Wehold monthly practice meetings. All members of the practice team are invited toattend. Participation is encouraged.
Regularteam leader meetings are held to review progress/achievement on all contractualobligations.
Continuouslyreviewing our practice systems and processes with an aim to improving patientexperience whilst also considering the wellbeing of our workforce.
Informalvisits welcomed
Thefollowing are the core responsibilities of the salaried GP. There may be onoccasion, a requirement to carry out other tasks; this will be dependent uponfactors such as workload and staffing levels:
Youremployment will be for 8 sessions per week as per practice rota, except inexceptional circumstances by mutual agreement, when you may be asked to work atother times. Surgeries, as allocated perpractice rota (by mutual agreement)
(Startand finish times will differ on day of extended hours surgery as per practicerota)
a.Thedelivery of highly effective medical care to the entitled population
b.Theprovision of services commensurate with the PMS contract
c.Genericprescribing adhering to local and national guidance
d.Effectivemanagement of long-term conditions
e.Processingof administration in a timely manner, including referrals, repeat prescriptionrequests, correspondence from secondary care/third parties, filing and actingon results of investigations and other associated administrative tasks
f.Ona rotational basis, undertake duty doctor role (one day per week)
g.Inclusionin extended hours rota
h.Shareof emergency appts to support the partners in meeting daily demand
i.Providehome visits to those patients meeting the eligible criteria
j.Maintainaccurate clinical records in conjunction with good practice, policy andguidance
k.Workingcollaboratively, accepting an equal share of the practice workload
l.Adhereto best practice recommended through clinical guidelines and the audit process
m.Contributeto the successful implementation of continuous improvement and qualityinitiatives within the practice
n.Clinicaland admin duties required to contribute towards maximum achievement against QOF,ES and local scheme targets.
o.Completeinsurance forms/medical examinations/incapacity benefit/fitness to work/bluebadge etc forms on patients
p.Completedeath certificates and crem form part 1s (money for part 2s received asseparate payment)
q.Attendand contribute effectively to practice meetings as required
r.Ensurecompliance with the appraisal process
s.Prepareand complete the revalidation process
t.Committo self-learning and instil an ethos of continuing professional developmentacross the practice team
u.Supportthe training of medical students from all clinical disciplines
v.Supportthe partners in achieving the strategic aims of the practice, makingrecommendations to enhance income and reduce expenditure
w.Reviewand adhere to practice protocols and policies at all times
x.Encouragecollaborative working, liaising with all staff regularly, promoting a cultureof continuous improvement always
y.Participatein practice audits as requested by the audit lead
z.Participatein local initiatives to enhance service delivery and patient care
aa.Participatein the review of significant and near-miss events applying a structuredapproach i.e. root cause analysis (RCA)
