Job Description:

The Lorn Medical Centre has a well-established team of Practice Nurses, who provide focused and holistic care to our community. The Practice ethos emphasizes developing individual skills and encouraging education and personal development to enhance healthcare delivery. We are a Training Practice, attracting GPs in training and hosting nursing and medical students.

We seek a Practice Nurse to help develop models of care that will deliver high-quality healthcare beyond 2025. Ideally, candidates will have a Practice Nursing background and a desire to develop the role of Practice Nursing locally. Alternatively, newly qualified nurses or those transitioning from secondary care are encouraged to apply.

The Lorn Medical Centre is the sole practice in Oban, serving the town and surrounding rural areas. It operates as a semi-rural practice with a patient list of approximately 11,500 and also provides care for tourists visiting Oban annually. The nearby Lorn & Islands Hospital offers medical and surgical beds and outreach clinics mainly associated with Greater Glasgow and Clyde Health Board.
