General Practice Nurse (ARRS - 3 Month Fixed Term)

To complement our East 2 PCN Practice Teams and ARRS PCN team, we are looking for a Nurse to join us to support with the delivery of the Covid-19 and Flu vaccinations throughout the Autumn and Winter 2025/26 vaccination period. The PCN will take applications from any qualified nurses, who have up to date Covid-19 and Flu training. You will be working with a strong and supportive team of clinicians and non-clinicians.

Main duties of the job

To support the delivery of the Autumn and Winter Covid-19 and Flu 2025/26 vaccinations,along with other general nursing duties required by practices. Working across all five of the practices in the Walsall East 2 PCN.

About us

Walsall East 2 PCN are looking for a qualified Nurse to join our multi-disciplinary team. You will provide support to the practices within the PCN. You will work closely with the practice staff and other ARRS roles.

Walsall East 2 PCN is made up on 5 local practices (Rushall Medical Centre, Northgate Practice, Portland Medical Practice, Collingwood Family Practice and Blackwood Health Centre) and serves a population of around 43,000 patients. The PCN has an above average population aged 65 years +.

We are an innovative PCN that work closely together in a proactive manner to ensure a high standard of patient care and satisfaction.

Northgate Practice is the lead practice for the PCN. Day to day management is by the PCN Management Team, in conjunction with the member practices.

Job responsibilities

To support the delivery of the Autumn/Winter Covid-19 and Flu 2025/26 vaccinations, alongside other general nursing duties required by East 2 PCN's Practices. Operating within the 5 practices in Walsall East 2 PCN (Rushall Medical Centre, Northgate Practice, Portland Medical Practice, Collingwood Family Practice and Blackwood Health Centre).

General nursing duties may include, but are not limited to, Wound Care, Long term condition reviews such as Asthma, Heart Disease and Diabetes, Vaccinations, immunisations and cervical cytology etc.

  • - Is and has been working at Registered Nurse Level Practice as described in the Primary Care and General Practice Nursing Career and Core
  • Capabilities Framework
  • - Experience of working in Primary Care
  • - Experience of working in a GP Practice
  • - Experience of administering Covid-19 and Flu vaccinations
  • - Has demonstrable experience in leading long-term conditions
  • management and quality improvement within a PCN
Qualifications
  • - Registered with the NMC and maintains revalidation in line with NMC
