Job description

We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated General Practice Nurse to join our dedicated nursing team. The ideal candidate will have expertise across all areas of General Practice Nursing, including child immunisations, cervical screening, travel vaccinations, and chronic disease management. Experience in respiratory management and palliative care would be a valuable asset.

Main duties of the job

Key Responsibilities in Detail

  • Autonomous patient care in line with clinical guidelines, protocols, PGDs, and PSDs.
  • Wound assessment and management, ensuring appropriate dressing treatments.
  • Conducting chronic disease management clinics (Diabetes, Asthma, COPD).
  • Cervical screening and cytology.
  • Performing investigations such as swabs, urinalysis, venepuncture, capillary blood testing, and BP measurement.
  • Providing care under Local Enhanced and Direct Enhanced Service contracts.
  • Childhood immunisations, flu vaccinations, and travel vaccination clinics.
  • Adhering to infection control policies and ensuring a safe clinical environment.
  • Promptly assessing patient concerns and making necessary referrals.
  • Recognising and reporting safeguarding concerns for both adults and children.
  • Providing support and training to nursing team members, medical students, and GP registrars.
  • Adhering to CQC protocols, information governance policies, and best practice guidelines.
  • Participating in mandatory training and continuous professional development.
  • Covering for team members during sickness and annual leave.
About us

The Feldon Practice is a dynamic, well-established, friendly training practice looking for an experienced, enthusiastic, highly motivated and flexible Salaried GP to join our team 6 sessions per week.

We are based across two sites, Hawne Lane and Feldon Lane Surgery both sites local to Halesowen town centre.

Our team cares for approximately 9,450 patients and consists of 3 Partners, 3 salaried GPs, 4 Practice Nurses, and 1 HCA. We are also a training practice for GP Registrars. We have an excellent team of administration/reception staff who offer support and assistance to both our clinical team and our patients. We are a friendly, supportive, approachable team. We are a teaching practice for the University of Birmingham and support portfolio career choices.

We are part of the Halesowen PCN, so have a range of PCN services to help support our population's health and wellbeing needs.
