Job summary

Havering Liberty Primary Care Network (PCN) is seeking a General Practice Assistant (GPA) or GPA Trainee to support clinics by handling routine admin and clinical tasks, increasing GP and PCN capacity to focus on patients.

You will train under a GP mentor through an accredited programme, with protected study time, and the role offers educational progression within a collaborative team at Mayland Healthcare and other PCN sites.

Qualifications

• GCSE English and Maths or equivalent qualifications.
• Experience in health or care roles preferred.
• Ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team.

Responsibilities

• Sort and prioritise clinical post, directing some to other healthcare professionals.
• Extract information from clinical letters for coding and medical records.
• Handle routine clinical post (e.g. DNA letters, 2WW).
• Arrange appointments, referrals and follow-ups.
• Prepare patients for GP appointments with brief histories and readings.
• Assist GP with immunisations and wound care.
• Support the PCN Leadership Team to meet DES requirements.
• Represent the PCN at local resident events.
