Ash Tree House Surgery in Kirkham is seeking a proactive General Practice Assistant (GPA) to join a friendly, multi-disciplinary team. The role, funded through the Additional Roles Recruitment Scheme, offers a permanent position at 25.5 hours per week with a GP Mentor and accredited training leading to the GP Assistant certificate.
You will support clinics with routine admin and clinical tasks, help with urgent admin like fast tracks and referrals, and work to improve patient access and flow.

This is an exciting opportunity for a General Practice Assistant (GPA) to join our friendly and dynamic team. The position is based at Ash Tree House, Kirkham. We are looking for highly motivated individuals who will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team to provide support across the Practice in:
You will be expected to develop links with local GP practices, colleagues within the service and local communities to ensure delivery of integrated, patient focused care, demonstrating flexibility in the role and a caring attitude towards patients.
You will have excellent organisational, interpersonal and communication skills together with a good working knowledge of primary care and the challenges facing patient care in the NHS.
Our GP Assistant will support the smooth running of clinics by performing routine administration and clinical tasks on behalf of the GP. They could support the GPs/ANPs with urgent admin such as fast tracks, x-rays, scans and referrals generated from our patients with an urgent acute condition but also support with urgent bloods, dressings and ECGs for these patients.
You will be assigned a GP Mentor and will follow an accredited training programme leading to award of the GP Assistant certificate.
Ash Tree House Surgery in Kirkham is a progressive Training Practice housed in a beautiful listed building, Ash Tree House provides a full range of primary care services to a population of over 13,000 patients.
We are committed to giving our patients the highest quality service by maintaining a caring, respectful and mutual confidence between Doctor and Patient. There are 4 GP Principals working closely with 5 salaried GP's and a dedicated Practice team which includes an Advanced Nurse Practitioner, a team of Practice Nurses, a Clinical Pharmacist, Counsellors and support staff.
The Practice is also supported by Community staff including a Community Matron, District Nurses and Health Visitors.
The Practice is also a member of the Kirkham & Wesham PCN.
Work with the general practice teams to ensure the practices are compliant with CQC standards.
