Job summary

Longrove Surgery is seeking a General Practice Assistant (GPA) to join our team. The ideal candidate should have NHS experience, strong computer skills, and excellent customer service abilities. While completing the General Practice Assistant course for Primary Care is preferred, it is not mandatory.

Our GPAs play a vital role in supporting the smooth operation of the practice by providing internal administrative support to meet patient needs. They serve as a key communication link, ensuring patients receive an excellent overall experience.

Main duties of the job

1. Manage incoming correspondence via letter and email
2. Utilize the Amina system for clinical coding and contact patients accordingly
3. Communicate with patients through incoming phone calls
4. Coordinate with the prescription team to ensure timely repeat prescriptions
5. Collaborate with GPs and the Care Navigation team to process eConsults within set timeframes

We are a friendly, supportive training practice located in North London, with approximately 17,500 patients. Our team includes 8 salaried GPs, 5 GP Partners, a Management Partner, nurses, HCAs, and a pharmacist. We are part of a Primary Care Network, involved in various schemes to deliver high-quality care.
