General Operative / Multi-Skilled Labourer

This is a Permanent, Full-Time vacancy that will close in 2 months at 23:59 BST.

The Vacancy

General Operative

We currently have numerous permanent/staff opportunities for multi-skilled Labourers/General Operatives within our Scotland Business Unit based at our Inverness depot, delivering rail asset management projects in the surrounding region.

Business Environment

Work involves civil engineering projects for clients including Local Authorities, Network Rail, and Environmental agencies. Projects include highways, underbridges, tunnels, flood alleviation, earthworks, and rail infrastructure.

We have ongoing projects and frameworks such as Civils Asset Management (CAM) and Renewals Enhancement Framework (REF).

The Role

• Operate machinery and perform assigned tasks safely and efficiently.
• Understand and follow all risk assessments and method statements.
• Maintain equipment and ensure a tidy, safe work environment.
• Complete work on schedule and communicate effectively with site management and supervisors.
• Report near misses and attend all site briefings and forums.
• Perform additional tasks as authorized by line managers.

Requirements

• Previous railway experience as a Multi-Skilled Labourer or General Operative.
• Valid PTS and CSCS cards.
