Job summary

Pilgrim's Europe in Westerleigh is hiring Production Operatives for the Abattoir Department on a full-time permanent basis. You will work on a 40-hour week with day shifts, handling equipment and knife safety training while contributing to high-quality pork processing.

Ideal candidates are motivated, able to learn quickly, and ready to work across multiple roles on a busy production line. Prior meat industry experience is beneficial.

• Experience as a pork butcher or meat processor in food manufacturing.
• Advanced knife handling skills.

Responsibilities

• Operating equipment and machinery to prepare carcass for chilling.
• Follow training in food safety to ensure high quality, safe products.

• Complete tasks efficiently to reduce waste and downtime.
• Work as part of a team with a positive attitude and share knowledge.
• Work flexibly across multiple roles within the Abattoir to meet service levels.

Due to continuously grow we have number of fantastic opportunities for within Our Team at Westerleigh site!

We are recruiting for Permanent Roles - Production Operatives - Abattoir Department to work at our Westerleigh site who are keen to learn new skills, are focused and driven

• Abattoir Operatives (day shift, 4 out of 5 days)
• Working Hours: 06:30 - 17:15 and 06:45 - 17:30, 4 x 10 hour working days.

Where?

Oakleigh Green, Westerleigh, Bristol, BS37 8QZ

The vacancies are full time on a regular shift pattern across a 40-hour week. Actual times worked may vary slightly due to job rotation on a busy production line.

Key Responsibilities

• Operating equipment and machinery (which could include knife/bladed machinery) to prepare carcass for chilling.
• Follow training in food safety to ensure a high quality, food safe products are produced for our customers.
• Ensuring health and safety to create a safe working environment for self and colleagues.
• Training in knife safety to minimise risks of injury.
• Completing tasks as efficiently as possible to reduce waste and downtime.
• Working as part of a team, demonstrating a positive attitude, and sharing knowledge.
• Work flexibly across multiple roles and areas within the Abattoir to ensure service levels are met.
• Previous experience would be beneficial.
