Job summary

Interaction Recruitment Group is helping a Baldock-based family-run business recruit a General Operative / Forklift Driver. The role covers forklift operation, manual handling and supporting deliveries, manufacturing tasks and keeping areas clean and orderly.

You will need a valid Counterbalance forklift licence and a full UK driving licence, plus a practical, hands-on approach. Hours are Monday to Friday, 8am-5pm, with training and long-term development opportunities.

Qualifications

• A valid, in-date Counterbalance Forklift licence is essential.
• Previous forklift experience.
• Full UK driving licence and own transport due to the location.
• Physically fit and comfortable with manual handling.
• A practical, hands-on approach to work.
• A genuine willingness to learn new skills.
• Keen to be trained on manufacturing machinery and equipment.
• Reliable with good timekeeping and attendance.
• A team player who is happy to help wherever required.
• Previous warehouse, manufacturing or production experience would beBeneficial.

Responsibilities

• Operating a Counterbalance Forklift safely and efficiently.
• Loading and unloading deliveries.
• Supporting the delivery team as required.
• Assisting with the movement and handling of stone worktops.
• Supporting the manufacturing team with day-to-day production tasks.
• Learning to operate manufacturing machinery and equipment.
• General warehouse and factory duties.
• Cleaning and maintaining work areas.
• Keeping the workplace safe, tidy and organised.
• Following all relevant health and safety procedures.
