Job summary

Recruit4staff are representing an established manufacturing business in Ellesmere Port recruiting a General Operative to join their workshop team. • Previous experience as a General Operative within a workshop environment would be beneficial
• Physically fit and capable of completing manual handling tasks
• Capable of following written and verbal instructions
• Confident using hand and power tools

Responsibilities

• Refurbishment and conversion of shipping containers into cold storage units in the workshop
• Assist skilled fabricators and fitters in daily duties
• Use hand and power tools to complete tasks
• Complete finishing work including sealing and painting
• Maintain general workshop housekeeping

Working as a General Operative, day-to-day duties will include using hand and power tools, completing manual handling tasks and supporting the production and repair of cold storage units. The role will also involve finishing work, including sealing and painting, alongside general workshop housekeeping duties.

Essential Skills, Experience, or Qualifications:

• Previous experience as a General Operative within a workshop environment would be beneficial
• Physically fit and capable of completing manual handling tasks
• Capable of following written and verbal instructions
• Confident using hand and power tools

Advantageous Skills, Experience, or Qualifications

• Previous experience working in a similar engineering or manufacturing role
• City & Guilds qualification in Fabrication, an engineering discipline, or equivalent
• MIG welding course
• FLT licence
