Lead the Future of Clean Energy

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced General Manager or Operations Manager to lead the growth and delivery of a thriving commercial solar division for an established renewable energy company based on the South Coast.

This is a pivotal leadership role suited to someone with in-depth experience in solar PV operations, a strong industry reputation, and a solid network within the Portsmouth and Southampton areas. You’ll take full responsibility for overseeing installations, managing teams, building client relationships, and ensuring the successful delivery of clean energy projects across the region.

Your Key Responsibilities

As the division’s operational lead, your focus will be on the successful delivery of commercial solar projects, including:

Leading all aspects of project delivery, from planning to completion

Managing internal teams, subcontractors, and third-party suppliers

Ensuring health & safety, quality assurance, and compliance standards are consistently met

Maintaining long-term relationships with clients and labour partners

Driving improvements in efficiency, service delivery, and commercial performance

You’ll have the autonomy to implement best practices, develop scalable processes, and play a hands-on role in shaping the division’s growth.

What We're Looking For

We’re seeking someone with a strong background in commercial solar or the wider renewable energy sector, who is confident working independently and making strategic decisions. You’ll need:

Proven leadership experience within solar PV operations or energy infrastructure

A well-established network across the South Coast

Strong commercial acumen and a proactive mindset

A track record of delivering high-quality, compliant, and profitable projects

Excellent communication skills and the ability to build rapport at all levels
