Job summary

University Hospitals of Derby and Burton NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Consultant in General Internal Medicine with Specialist Interest. The successful candidate will lead daily ward rounds, participate in MDTs, and manage General Medical ward activities on weekdays, with a structured clinic component each week.

The role includes teaching and training of undergraduate medical students and junior staff, with an annualised weekend commitment and a Bank Holiday session.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily MDT board rounds at 09:00-09:30 and ward rounds 09:30-12:00 on General Medical wards.
• Conduct one clinic per week and review results and unstable patients in the afternoon.
• Teach and train undergraduate medical students and junior medical staff.
