General Medical Practitioner (Primary Care Network)

We are looking for a GP to join our dynamic PCN multidisciplinary team to cover 6 sessions.

The role will involve 5 sessions of practice-based GP clinics and 1 session to develop a PCN-based portfolio career.

Main duties of the job

• 6 sessions/week
• Review of fixed-term contract at 6 month mark
• Good supervision and mentorship with senior PCN GPs and managers
• Opportunity to join innovative approaches to Metabolic health and Chronic pain
• Working as part of our PCN MDTs
• Opportunity to develop leadership skills
• Time for personal development and non-patient facing learning

Job responsibilities

• Conducting surgery and telephone consultations
• Checking, signing, and authorising prescriptions
• Making professional, autonomous decisions regarding presenting problems
• Assessing the healthcare needs of patients
• Screening patients for disease risk factors and early signs of illness
• Developing care plans in consultation with patients
• Providing counselling and health education
• Recording clear and contemporaneous consultation notes

Person Specification

Qualifications

• Newly Qualified General Practitioner (with under 2 years from qualification)
• Registered General Practitioner (GMC)
• Current UK/EU Driving License
• Registered on local Performer's List
• Willingness to complete an Enhanced DBS Check
