Gecko Travel Recruitment is delighted to be working with a leading Destination Management Company that is recruiting a UK General Manager to join their London team on a permanent basis.

As General Manager, you will collaborate closely with other members of the Leadership Team and be responsible for driving company strategy across all functions, with full P&L ownership for your region. You will manage 6-8 direct reports and a team of around 70 people.

Ideally, you will have over 15 years of experience in the travel industry, including at least 5-7 years in a senior management role.

The role:

• Leading and managing a team of over 70 staff across Hotel Procurement, Reservations, Operations, Destination Management, Customer Service, Direct Sales, and MICE
• Building and supporting a high-performing team through clear communication, staff development, goal setting, and regular financial and performance reviews
• Taking full P&L responsibility for the UK and Benelux region and helping drive company strategy
• Ensuring operational excellence in destination management and customer service, including meeting service KPIs
• Overseeing hotel procurement and product development, ensuring rate competitiveness, supplier relationships, and alignment with sales and market trends

You will have:

• 15+ years' experience within the MICE & DMC sectors
• Minimum 5-7 years' experience in a senior management role
• Experience working for a DMC that handles inbound travel to the UK
• Good connections within the UK and preferably Benelux travel trade
• Experience leading large international teams, with a proven ability to inspire and motivate others
