Restaurant General Manager - Sugardough's Restaurant The Lanes
We are looking for an experienced and talented Restaurant GM for our small & beautiful restaurant in Brighton's Lanes. Days, hourly rate, monthly bonus plus equal share of service charge and tips. Base pay paid weekly, bonuses and service charge paid monthly. Top range includes % based bonuses (10%) and approximate service charge based on a 40 hour week. You will have a significant amount of autonomy and will be responsible for the day to day operation of the restaurant with support from the owners and the wider Sugardough management team. All applications will be treated with the strictest of confidence.
We are looking for a talented person with business acumen and creativity, initiative and energy, an excellent eye for detail and strong organisation skills. You will interview & on-board staff; prepare rotas; lead and motivate your team, including the kitchen team; train and develop staff; ensure all staff comply with Sugardough's Policies and Rules, training and service standards.
You will be responsible for ensuring that all processes and systems are followed, particularly HACCP and alcohol licence paperwork. You will be expected to become familiar with and manage our till & stock system - Lightspeed K. Ideally you will drive expansion of the business into the evenings with events and pop ups. Experience working in an independent environment is an advantage.
We are looking for a person with restaurant management experience, leadership skills and strong customer service and waiting skills. This is a hands on role. You must be able to work full time, weekends and holidays. You must be energetic, have personality, be driven and dedicated to doing the best job you can. You must be able to lead and train staff, build a strong team. Good barista skills, cocktail experience, some wine knowledge and a love and appreciation of good seasonal food is a must.
The restaurant is full table service, attentive and friendly. We are a local independent business and you need to be dynamic, flourish in a busy environment, be able to create a great atmosphere for customers and your team. The hours are 40 - 45 per week, competitive hourly rate, achievable monthly bonus, share of service charge and tips.
You must have the following experience:
· Restaurant management experience
· Leadership skills
· Strong hosting and waiting skills
· Barista skills and some cocktail making experience
· Professional full table service experience
· Excellent customer service skills
· Excellent communication and organisational skills
· A professional manner and be very presentable
· Excellent written and spoken English
· You must be eligible to work full time in the UK
