- Own team member recruitment and onboarding to meet business needs
- Build a robust family tree through strategic succession planning, ensuring backup plans for each role
- Promote team happiness by embodying Pret’s values and bringing joy to team and customers
- Embrace Thoughtful Leadership principles: kindness, honesty, generosity
- Ensure training, legal compliance, and graduations are conducted according to standards and timelines, including journals and reviews
- Minimize turnover following turnover principles
- Conduct regular 1:1s to review performance using Pret Behaviours, KPIs, and SMART targets

- Communicate effectively with the team through briefs, meetings, and 1:1s
- Promote Pret positively, escalate concerns as needed
- Follow up on new standards or initiatives
- Seek and give constructive feedback, encourage team ideas
- Build networks with other GMs for best practice sharing
- Keep the team informed of business changes
- Ensure Key Roles attend meetings and follow through on actions
