Job description

Role overview:

This role requires an inspirational leader with proven flair and commercial ability, as well as the skill, energy, and determination to drive and develop the business. We're looking for a manager with experience in developing the standards and reputation of this new gym, while nurturing a growing membership base and team.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure compliance with all policies and procedures in the Health and Safety Employee Policy and Company Procedures Handbook.
  • Maintain adherence to and uphold the JD Gyms Brand Standard.
  • Conduct regular safety checks (daily, weekly, monthly). Report and follow up on defects to ensure the safety of the building and equipment.
  • Recruit, manage, and develop a team of Fitness Coaches and General Assistants to ensure smooth daily operations and delivery of expectations.
  • Hold regular team meetings to support development and keep staff updated.
  • Work towards and aim to achieve all set sales and membership targets.
  • Drive and maximise secondary revenue streams.
  • Maintain the highest standards of cleanliness across the gym facility.
  • Ensure in-house cleaners (General Assistants) meet cleanliness standards. Manage weekly banking processes to minimise wastage and variances, maximising profit.
  • Ensure all team members adhere to uniform standards.
  • Deliver outstanding member service consistently.
  • Create an enjoyable and motivating environment for the team at work.
  • Act as an ambassador of JD Gyms at all times.

Skills and Experience:

  • Proven management experience within a leisure-related industry.
  • Passionate about customer service and an inspirational leader.
  • Qualified to at least Level 2 Gym Instructor.
  • Track record in driving sales, managing local marketing, and recruiting a successful team.
  • Experience as a General Manager or similar operational role within a leisure facility is preferred.
