Overview

General Manager — 45-50k plus bonus — Live in available. We're looking for a General Manager for the Hand and Spear in Weybridge. The pub is located a stone's throw from Weybridge station, with a large car park beside it and 12 guest bedrooms, offering a destination pub experience for commuters, families, and guests exploring leafy Surrey.

We are seeking a people-focused, guest-centric General Manager who cares deeply about delivering exceptional premium service and a fantastic guest experience. The pub has several bookable spaces and outside areas, with potential to grow sales. We want an experienced operator who is happy to be the face of the business for this gem of a pub.

Responsibilities

• Act as the face of the business and lead day-to-day operations across all areas of the pub and rooms.
• Deliver exceptional customer service and a premium guest experience.
• Grow sales by optimizing events, spaces, and guest engagement.
• Oversee bookable spaces and outdoor areas and manage revenue opportunities.
• Recruit, develop, and lead the team to ensure staff have the knowledge to delight customers.
• Own recruitment and marketing efforts and tailor offerings to the guest experience.
• Decide on food/menu direction within the framework of the business and contribute to menu ideas.
• Define events, promotions, and sales-driving activities aligned with the business vision.
• Establish and manage team standards, including uniforms and guest service protocols.
