Job summary

SP Exec is seeking an experienced General Manager to lead a premium pub with rooms in the South West. The role carries full day-to-day leadership and commercial responsibility across food, drink, accommodation and events, with a clear focus on creating a destination that attracts locals and visitors.

You will drive sales and profitability, develop an outstanding food and beverage offer, and lead a high-performing team to deliver exceptional hospitality and guest experiences.

General Manager – Premium Pub with Rooms

Location: South West England

Salary: Up to £50,000 + Bonus up to £15,000 + live-in accommodation if required

SP Exec are looking for an experienced General Manager to lead a premium hospitality operation in the South West.

This is an opportunity for an accomplished operator to take ownership of a business with significant potential across food, drink, accommodation and events.

We’re looking for someone who understands what great hospitality looks like and can create a destination that attracts both an established local customer base and visitors to the area.

The Role

The General Manager will have full responsibility for the day-to-day leadership and commercial performance of the business, including:

• Driving sales and profitability across food, drink, accommodation and events
• Developing a strong food and beverage offer and delivering consistently high standards
• Building local awareness and establishing the venue as a destination in its own right
• Developing events, functions and other commercial opportunities
• Leading, developing and motivating the management and wider site team
• Improving customer experience and creating a warm, premium hospitality environment
• Taking ownership of operational standards, labour, cost control and commercial performance
• Identifying new revenue opportunities and proactively driving the business forward

What We’re Looking For

We’re particularly interested in speaking with General Managers from premium pub, restaurant or hospitality businesses who have experience across a combination of:

• Premium food-led operations
• Rooms or accommodation
• Events, functions or private dining
• High-volume or destination-led hospitality
• Strong commercial and operational ownership
• Building and developing high-performing teams

You’ll be an experienced, visible leader who is comfortable setting standards while remaining close to the operation.

Experience with premium pub groups or high-quality independent hospitality businesses would be particularly relevant.

This role would suit someone who enjoys having genuine ownership of a business and can see the commercial opportunities beyond simply running the day-to-day operation.

Live-in accommodation can be provided if required.
