We are looking for a commercially focused General Manager, and we are genuinely open in terms of your background! We sell high-end bespoke solutions to both residential and commercial customers all over the UK, and we are looking to move into a period of sustained growth.

You will be based in the South West and will thrive on developing relationships with customers as well as improving and mentoring your staff.

Location

An office-based role with fieldwork as required. You could be based anywhere within an hour of our office in North Devon.

Job Description

As our General Manager, you'll report directly to the Group CEO. You will take on an already growing business with big aspirations, and will be encouraged to bring about change. You will be involved in the next phase of growth in an established UK market, overseeing our UK business with support from senior managers and a team of around 40.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and develop the UK team to achieve revenue targets.
  • Maintain customer engagement and enjoy the sales cycle.
  • Set sales objectives and motivate the sales team.
  • Oversee leadership elements for the business (£10-£12m), including coaching, motivation, and performance management.
  • Work with and develop a team of 3 senior reports and circa 35 staff, providing mentoring and support.
  • Report regularly to the European-based CEO and organization regarding sales performance.
  • Conduct market analysis to stay aware of competition and economic indicators.
Person Specification

Looking for a sales-focused business leader with a proven track record in developing accounts and businesses, influencing individuals, and managing client relationships. Ideally, you will have experience in pumps, filtration, metering, water, wastewater, or related fields, and experience with distribution models is a plus.

  • Strong strategic and business insight.
  • Experience managing a sales budget of £10-£15 million.
  • Experience in both commercial and residential sales is advantageous.
  • People management skills capable of stabilizing and changing teams across locations.
  • Charisma, networking ability, empathy, and emotional selling skills.
