Job summary

Loom Talent is seeking a Site General Manager for Crewe to own both warehouse and transport operations within a busy retailer distribution site. You will drive performance across service, cost, quality and safety, and lead the management team with focus on efficiency and customer service.

This hands-on leader will manage budgets, labour planning and overall costs while implementing Continuous Improvement initiatives and maintaining high Health & Safety standards across the operation.

The Role

This Site General Manager opportunity is with a well-established retailer based in Crewe, taking full ownership of both the warehouse and transport operations across a busy distribution site.

The business is looking for a hands-on Site General Manager who can bring both sides of the operation together, driving performance across warehousing, transport, people and customer service. You'll have overall responsibility for the site, leading the management team while identifying opportunities to improve efficiency, reduce cost and raise operational standards.

Working across the wider Logistics distribution and supply chain function, this is a highly visible leadership position offering genuine autonomy and accountability for site performance.

Key responsibilities

• Full operational responsibility for both warehouse and transport functions across the Crewe site
• Leading, coaching and developing warehouse and transport management teams
• Driving performance across service, productivity, cost, quality and operational KPIs
• Managing site budgets, labour planning and overall operational costs
• Ensuring transport compliance, fleet standards and operational procedures are consistently maintained
• Driving Continuous Improvement initiatives across warehouse and transport operations
• Maintaining high standards across Health & Safety, compliance and operational governance
• Working closely with the wider Logistics distribution and supply chain teams to improve end-to-end performance
• Building a positive, accountable culture with a strong focus on people development and engagement

Key experience

• Strong experience across both warehouse and transport operations
• Background within retail, distribution, FMCG or a similarly fast-paced environment
• Experience leading sizeable operational teams through established management structures
• Strong commercial awareness with experience managing budgets, labour and operational costs
• Good understanding of transport compliance alongside warehouse Health & Safety requirements
• Experience delivering Continuous Improvement and operational change
• Strong leadership and stakeholder management skills within a Logistics distribution and supply chain environment
