About the Role
Our client, a well-established and growing interiors business, is seeking an experienced General Manager to lead daily operations and drive commercial performance. This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially astute professional to take ownership of strategic and operational functions while maintaining a strong customer focus.
Key Responsibilities
Provide full operational leadership across the business, ensuring consistent commercial performance
Lead and develop the team, setting goals, KPIs and maintaining motivation
Oversee showroom operations including diary management, scheduling, and workflow coordination
Handle customer interactions both in person and digitally, offering expert product advice
Manage order processing, purchasing, and supplier relationships to ensure cost-effective procurement
Monitor and report on financial performance including margins, profitability, and business metrics
Liaise with Head Office and provide regular business updates to Directors
Must-Have Skills & Experience
Strong financial understanding including P&L management and balance sheet analysis
Demonstrated commercial acumen with a track record of operational success
Proven experience in a general management or senior operational role
Nice-to-Haves
Excellent leadership and team motivation skills
Industry experience in blinds, soft furnishings, or home interiors
Familiarity with CRM systems (Carmen ideally) and accounting software such as Xero or Sage
