Job Overview

It’s a special moment in time at Brockencote Hall Hotel – the most intimate of our Eden Hotel Collection, but one with real character, soul, and ambition. With a loyal following, a beautifully maintained estate, and a kitchen proudly delivering 3 AA Rosette dining, Brockencote is poised for its next chapter.

We’re looking for a General Manager who’s ready to take the next step in their career, and someone with a genuine passion for fine dining and five-star hospitality. You’ll inherit an exceptional team that blends long-standing talent with up-and-coming leaders from our development programme. We’re proud to have created a culture where people thrive.

We believe in developing our people. Our current General Managers have celebrated 11 promotions between them, with an average tenure of 12 years. We’re committed to continuing this legacy.

Key Responsibilities

As General Manager, your focus will be on delivering exceptional guest experiences, maintaining our reputation for fine food, heartfelt service, and beautiful surroundings. You’ll also have the opportunity to make your commercial mark through weddings, events, F&B, and occupancy, supported by a strong team and central support functions.

This role offers a balanced quality of life and career ambition, with the hotel fully operational 5 days out of 7 each week.

Candidate Requirements

  • Proven recent experience as General/Hotel Manager or a DGM with significant experience within a luxury hotel environment, delivering 3 AA Rosette standards.
  • Financial acumen with a desire to maximise sales and profitability through creative sales and marketing activities.
  • Exceptional leadership skills, with a track record of recognising and developing talent to retain teams.
  • A commercial mindset with the ability to identify and unlock revenue opportunities.
  • Credibility to develop relationships across all levels of the business, influencing success and collaborating with support offices.
  • A genuine passion for hospitality, with guest satisfaction at the core of decision-making.
  • Experience in a wedding-focused environment is an advantage.
