Job summary

Greene King is seeking a General Manager to lead a community pub, delivering exceptional guest experiences and driving sales through a capable team. You’ll set standards, develop staff, and model the brand ethos in every interaction.

You’ll be responsible for P&L awareness, staff development, and ensuring safety and allergen controls are observed, while fostering an inclusive, welcoming environment for locals.

Qualifications

• Very high standards and attention to detail in day-to-day pub operations.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills.
• Business sense with a keen eye for P&L control.
• Support inclusion and care for others, the pub, and the environment.
• Previous General Manager experience in hospitality or retail preferred; right attitude is essential.
• Keen to learn and motivated to succeed in new challenges.
• Sufficient spoken and written English to perform the role safely and understand allergen controls.

Responsibilities

• Grow pub sales with the business development manager and management team.
• Lead by example to bring the brand to life through your team and deliver amazing customer experiences.
• Recruit and develop your team to ensure they have the knowledge to delight customers.
• Champion brand standards and ensure customer and team safety at all times.
• Be prepared to obtain a personal licence if not already held.

What you’ll do as a General Manager...

• Work with your business development manager and management team to grow pub sales.
• Lead by example in everything you do and bring our brand to life through your team in delivering amazing experiences for our customers.
• You will recruit & develop your team to ensure they have the knowledge needed to delight our customers.
• Be a champion of brand standards & ensure customer & team safety at all times.
